WELSH CORGI. Cardigan & Pembroke
Even when the two Corgies are related with each other, they evolved in a relatively independent way for centuries. The Cardigan is possibly the most ancient. Good farm dogs, they became popular in the United Kingdom because they had the sympathy of the royal family. Dog Toys
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Cardigan, quieter than the Pembroke, has a long tail and an elongated body. It is also called the yard dog because its length is exactly equivalent to welsh yard (approximately a meter). The Pembroke is smaller. They are sociable and even the Pembroke might be more outgoing, the Cardie is not shy at all. They like nibbling, but if socialized and trained since very young, they can be good pets, often patient with children.
PHYSICAL ASPECT
Both of them have a straight and very warm coat, with more colors in the case of the Cardie. Very big ears, normally straight. The Cardigan's long tail touches the floor when walking, while the Pembroke's is very short. They both have very big feet with good pads and a robust body, almost touching the floor, but the body is longer in the case of the Cardie.
