Weaning

Puppy Weaning

We have seen previous how the period of weaning starts after the first month begins, that lasts approximately about fifteen days. When the puppies complete the month and half, the moment arrives in that you should separate the mother with object that they stop to nurse. Starting from this moment the dogs will be fed artificially, but for that reason we won't use "artificial products", since, in all ways, it is better that they receive natural allowances.

In any case, the puppies should never be given before they have completed the two months; let us keep in mind that, that if the weaning begun at month and half, at two months they won't have enough autonomy to suffer the change that represents to be alone without those cares that are the only ones that have known; then a short, but very important treatment exists that preferable that if is done where they have been raised and that we will explain next.

When the puppy reaches the two months of age, the first treatment should be done against the parasites, but we should not keep in mind if he has them or not, it is simply a preventive measure that should always be done before administering them its vaccines against the distemper, hepatitis, parvo virus and the leptospirosis. These vaccines are to give after the fourth or fifth day of having him administered the pills against parasites. Let us have in mind that the dose against the parasites is relative to the weight of the animal and the age, it is advisable to consult it to the veterinarian, although once prescribed the product and known the dose, and it can be administered by us perfectly.

If the animal doesn't have diarrhea (in the event of having it, take the puppy to the veterinarian as soon as possible, because he could have very serious consequences if it is not treat it on time), the moment arrived that the puppy will be delivered to the new owner he will offer covenants of title that it provided the demanded treatment, for ethics and consideration toward those small beings that have been born and they have been raised in our house, it is not permissible that then they are mistreated and waits them an undesirable life.

When we give the puppy to their new owner, let us indicate him the date that was vaccinated specifying, also the day in that it vaccinates again. Give him all the information on any symptom that could have, not forgetting to manifest the buyer that, in spite of having been vaccinated and later on revaccinated, he can in all ways contract illnesses of viral origin and that, therefore, to the minimum symptom he will suit to notice it to the veterinarian so that it proceeds quickly to order the appropriate treatment, being prevented this way any evolution of an illness that may turn irreversible. Let us keep in mind that all the cares that are lavished during the first months of life, can be decisive for the health of the puppy and so that, of adult it is a dog that enjoys good health and arrive to old age under unbeatable conditions.

We should not give a bath to a puppy before time; let us also keep in mind if it is a race that admits the bath or not; in all ways, we have dedicated a chapter to the way in that the dogs should be taken a bath, which must have very in mind to avoid possible displeasure. Dog Toys, so much of puppy as when it is mature, the food of the dog should be to an approximate temperature from about 86, 00 to 104, 00 Fahrenheit. If is to hot it can harm him and even affect his smell scent.
