Teaching the Puppy to be Clean

When we acquire a puppy it is useless to expect him to know where and when to do his necessities, its then inhuman to hit him, because we won't solve absolutely nothing; difficultly it's to achieve that the dog begins to be clean until he is four months. In all ways, what one can attempt is that he always does his necessities in the same place, that which represents an introduction to the cleaning; once we have decided which is the suitable place so that he can depose after the food he will be caught and placed on a newspaper located in the place that we have considered suitable, generally then he will do some of their necessities, perhaps several.

To prepare the first outing, with the object of eliminating the system of the newspapers in the floor, firstly he will have to get accustom to the necklace and, if it doesn't used it, we can leave it on, taking care that it is not to tight; later on, when he get use to it, we will be able to place him the chain or subjection belt and we will try then for him to follow us. Let us not do it abruptly and, when we have achieved it after several steps, let us caress him in sign that we are happy of these behavior; little by little he will get accustom and will always do it in the street.

If we observe that passed certain time has not achieved the things like we would want, let us not despair in our zeal and let us continue attempting it; certain puppies takes longer time in learning than others. Under any concept we should not hit him; that way we would ruin the character of the puppy and would be very difficult to obtain something positive; it has been demonstrated how educated animals with the help of beating they finish having a very bad character and then it is practically impossible to make them have good character again. As maximum, the only thing that we should do, with some newspaper give him in the part of behind, so that it is noisy but painless; anyway, also we will talk to him with some strong words (but without screaming) this so that, they understand that have done something bad; this, you can achieve when, returning of the garden, if he goes his necessities inside the house; then, pointing out to him what he did, with firm voice but calm we take him outside for space of one hour at least; then, without saying anything, the dog is allowed to enter. Let us keep in mind, when we punish him this way make sure that it is not cold, because he could contract illnesses and it is not worthwhile any risk for so little thing.

We ignore the origin of the ugly and dirty habit of putting the puppies face where he has made his necessities where he is not suppose to; with it can sometimes be that the animal, for a reflection, will relate to make his necessities with rubbing around them, we will only increase his sense of dirt; until the moment, has not been possible to prove a single case in that it has been good for anything as primitive as useless procedure.
