Schnauzer (Giant & Miniature)
It proceeds from the south of Germany. The standard is the oldest variety. The Giant, more corpulent and robust, it was used as a cowherd dog and a guardian dog. Its strength and capacities have caused its separation from the standard variety as a working dog. There is third variety, the Miniature Schnauzer.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The word schnauzer means "snout". In fact, the flashiest feature of this dog it its snout, underlined in addition, by a long beard, hard as wire that has turned into its main characteristic. When they participate in canine beauty contests and expositions, the shape is accentuated by strategically cutting the beard.
These are powerful dogs that take a lot of time to get mature. Its sense of the responsibility and the duty make it particularly ideal as a police and army dog. It is patient and trusting and it can travel 16 km walking without rest and almost with no effort.
PHYSICAL ASPECT
Hard wirehair that requires a lot of cares. Dark eyes. Ears placed high and leaning forward. The tail is normally amputated, very high. Short much arched feet that shouldn't be turned outwards. The Giant variety is differentiated from the Standard only on the size: it has a bigger thoraxes capacity and the length of its body should be equivalent of its height. Dog Toys
