RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK Puppy Dogs

From South Africa, it owes it name Ridgeback to the characteristic tuft that underlines its spinal column. It is currently used as guardian dog, but it was bred to hunt (it can even hunt lions).

GENERAL Dog DESCRIPTION

It is very strong and corpulent, but its aspect is not as formidable as one could imagine, considering that it is capable to pounce lions. The tuft on the back is formed by hair that grows in the contrary direction that the rest of the hair. It adapts greatly to the house and even when it is placid and trustful with the family members, it is usually not very friendly with strangers. Dog Toys

Dog PHYSICAL ASPECT

Short hair, not of a very difficult maintenance, the colors go from light reddish to the dark blond. The tuft has two crests by the cross and it progressively narrows to the tail. Very lively eyes, of an intelligent expression, pretty separate.

 Soft, rounded ears, usually darker than the rest of the coat. Long and robust tail, slightly curved up.

 Rounded feet with strong pads that let it hunt in difficult fields. Its chest, very deep and its powerful back gives it a muscular and balanced air.
