Dog Life Span Length
These months represent the dog's adolescence. At this age, the female dogs have their first heat and male dogs reach their sexual maturity. It can be a period of trial and error between the dog and its owner, since their social relation may be completely reevaluated. Some female dogs seems to suffer sudden humor changes before, after or during the heat and they may even refuse to have other dogs come close to them.
The male dogs can begin to raise their paw to urinate between the 6 and the 12 months of age. They do this to mark their territory and to send codified information in olfative signs about their their social and sexual status to other dogs. Their meetings with other dogs can begin to be presided by rivalry feelings, even when they don't normally get to the physical aggression. They will constantly pretend to get on top of the female dogs or other male dogs trying to turn into the dominant male. The adult teeth appear between the sixth and tenth months of age and it is possible for the dog to feel an irresistible desire to chew, trying to relieve the tension on their gums. It is convenient to provide the dogs with chew toys so they won't break things at home.
