PEKINGESE
It was so appreciated in China by the imperial dynasties that its possession was prohibited for commoners. When the European army people robbed the imperial palace in Pekin in 1860, they took five of these dogs to Europe as a war prize. The modern Pekingese come from those five ones.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Even when it is so tiny that it can be carried under the arm as an umbrella, this is not sedentary lap dog, but an exercise lover, lively and even naughty. The legend says that it is result of the mixture of a lion and a titi monkey. In fact, it looks like a lion because of its hair and braveness. It can be stubborn and needs patient owners.

PHYSICAL ASPECT
Long straight lion-like hair that needs to be brushed a lot in order to keep the neat aspect. It can be of many colors from red and spotted fawn to black and multicolor. Very big dark shiny eyes. Heart shaped ears, totally covered with hair, placed on the edge of the skull. The tail is decorated with exuberant fringes, placed high and slightly curved over the back. Proportionally very big feet with flattened pads, hands slightly turn outwards. Well-defined waist.
