PAPILLION
This breed was possibly originated about 700 years ago and was extended to Europe during the XVI century, when it enjoyed the preference of numerous European royal families. It comes from the same Spaniel lineage of the King Charles.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This breed is called Papillion ("butterfly" in French) because of its straight ears, covered with light fringes that resemble the opened wings of a butterfly. There a practically equal breed, with the only difference the ears hang on the other breed that is called Phalene ("night butterfly in French).
Delicate and resistant at the same time, it loves exercising. It is intelligent, smart and friendly, but it can sometimes feel jealous of strangers. Very attached to its owners, it needs a lot of human company.
PHYSICAL ASPECT
Long, fine, silky and abundant hair. It can be white with spots of any color except liver. The eyes are very low in relation with the head, dark and rounded with dark borders on the eyelids. Huge rounded ears covered with abundant light fringes, very mobile that form a 45-degree angle with the skull when they are straight. Long tail, very curved over the back and covered with exuberant fringes. Long, hare feet with large locks of hair between the fingers. Very elongated body, with a straight back and the belly slightly retaken.
