GREAT DANE (Deutsche Dogge)
Its distinction, elegance and height justify the use of the term "great"; however, the word "Dane", can just lead us to confusion since this is a German breed. Originally bred as a hunter and fighting dog, it is currently Germany's national dog.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Very muscular but at the same time, graceful, versatile, of a majestic aspect and full of affection, it gets well adapted to city life as long as it is allowed to exercise enough. However, both, the diet and the physical exercise should be precociously allowed on puppies to prevent any kind of problems with their bones. Kind, friendly and outgoing, it gets along well with children and other animals. It can be stubborn, but it gives a good response to the training if it uses modern methods based on motivation.
PHYSICAL ASPECT
Short, thick, straight and shiny hair of a barcine, fawn, blue, black or harlequin color. Pretty deep set eyes. The ears should be triangular, placed very high and forward and fold to the front without hanging. Straight tail, lined up with the back that slightly curves on the tip when the dog is in motion. It should have cat feet, with the fingers very arched. Deep chest, descended to the elbow. Dog Toys
