FLANDES' COWHERD
These dogs were in charge of conducting the bullocks in the Belgian county of Flanders, with the skill that it way considered one of the best cowherds in the whole Western Europe. Its guardian instincts are so strong that during the World War I this breed was about to get exterminated due to decreases produced on the same battle camp. The good gesture of the breeders let this dog to survive the 20's and it currently collaborates with the police in various countries, besides working as guardian, tracker and guide dog.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Excellent guardian dog, good familiar dog, cringes with children if it has grown up with them, intelligent and full of life. It shows amazing agility and lightness considering its size.
PHYSICAL ASPECT
Thick coat, rough to the touch and with a messy aspect. Hard exterior coat. Dark eyes and a smart look, hardly visible under the thick eyebrows. Triangle ears, cut in America and some parts of Europe. It is usual to amputate a good portion of the tail, leaving just a little stump. Small, compact, rounded feet with thick and hard pads. Squared body, robust and short of an equivalent length to the height. The chest descends up to the elbow.
