Dogs Evolution and Domestication

The dog is a carnivore as its four carnivorous teeth, designed to bite deeply into its prey's flesh. It is said that the carnivores appeared between 38 and 54 millions of years ago as an answer to certain climatic and environmental changes. Probably, the dog's most ancient ancestor was a creodont (carnivore of small dimensions) with a similar aspect to the ferret called Miacis, that used to live over the trees during the Paleocenus.

Among 26 and 38 millions of years ago, the Miacis was replaced little by little by many canine spices (animals of the dog's family) among which we can find the Hesperocyon. This dog specie used to live in what we currently call North America, it possessed an inner hearing very similar to the dogs we have these days which confirms its evaluative link. The Cynodictis evolved from this creature, with a similar aspect to the dog, a specie that got extended to numerous parts of the planet.dog kennel, dog house.

By the end of the Miocen, about 12 million years ago, 42 new spices of canines appeared, one of them, the Tomaractus; outdoor cat houses, cat houses having a long snout, a very big brain and very similar appearance to the modern dog, as well as very similar teeth. All the current breeds proceed from this canine. Read here to see the evolution for wolf in domestic dogs. Famous, good, cool, French, German dog names
