Dog Care

It is good to repeat that the distemper the leptospirosis, the parvovirus and the viral hepatitis can be avoided by means of vaccination and they are not transferable to humans. There exist only two typical illnesses of the dog that can attack the man. In first is the infection by equinococosis, parasites that grow in the visors of bovine  and for that reason they are transmitted to the dogs of the butchers and the shepherds easily. And, in second, the rabies that in the past kill humans but at the present time, thanks to a bigger sanitary conscience and mainly to the obligatory anti-rabies vaccination that the dogs are subjected to has almost disappeared. Although like we have said, the rabies has been almost dominated we should stop for a moment to consider this illness in that one bite could cause a quickly death if we don't take the right measures.

The rabies doesn't spread spontaneously: is contagious. Therefore for a dog that is healthy to get sick it needs be bitten by a sick dog. The dog with rabies quickly changes humor, it passes from the agitation to the depression, he escapes from the light, he hides in remote places he becomes irritable. The voice is sometimes hoarse, their salivation increases and the swallowing of food and drink becomes difficult because of the formation of an edema in the glottis.

In the second stage of the illness the animal becomes irritable and it bites things, animals, people, until the paralysis attacks him and the dog dies in a few days. If one suspects that a dog suffers of rabies, death should be given, as long as the dog has not bitten anybody, If it has bitten should be taken to be observed in the municipal kennel to be able to settle down if this really is rabies or  if it is consequence, that the dog will need to carry out a long but necessary treatment to save the person that has been bitten.
