Doesn't matter if they are ugly

With a lot of frequency the strange nature awards to the dogs disconcerting proportions, coats of suggestive colors, an irresistible sympathy, a vivacious intelligence. For that reason it is easy to fall in love with some privileged copies, it is enough by looking at them. But other times the puppies that are born are disproportional and - we say it in low voice - definitely ugly. The bad thing is that the lack of attractiveness becomes evident when the dog has already stopped to be puppy, when it changes his fleecy coat for some lawless hair, when his definitive color is unqualifiedly, when its proportions looks more of a futurist paint than to a dog of flesh and bone. And, often, facing the sad discovery, we throw him out, when the poor little animal had already known the tranquillity of a home; who knows how much work it will cost him now to avoid the blows and to get some food. 

Let us remember again that the qualities that define a dog of great value are not the external ones but the moral qualities, their capacity of affection, their sincerity, their attachment for the master, the gratitude, and the fidelity. When a dog is ugly it is necessary to look for the good qualities that there is in his interior. This is not sentimentality; it won't be difficult to find them and make them flourish, since they are there, although maybe they have been buried by bad experiences of a hard life.
