Daily Walks
In the same way that we have indicated the importance that has the puppy of a couple of months that he rests and play as much as he wants, starting from when he is five months, approximately, he will need to go for walks, and with certain frequency it will suit to take it to the field and to leave it loose where their is no cars around neither exist the possibility, in case he goes away, that it arrives near some highway. But to be able to do this class of exercises it will be necessary that we teach the dog, to come immediately when he is called. We will explain next the form in that we can achieve it approximately at the age of four and a half months or five.
We should get used to, from the first days in that we have the puppy at Home, to call it by their name; every time that he comes, so that the one can relate their name with something pleasant and positive, let us caress him and, telling him some word in nice and affectionate tone, we can offer him some cookie or any toy that we know that it will be of their pleasure. Let us not have for habit to call it loudly or in a violent way without a reason for it. When he carries out something that is not of our pleasure and we consider that for such reason he should be quarreled, let us do it with authoritarian voice but let us not be abrupt, because the violence will bring more violence. It also exists another curious form so that a very young dog comes as soon as he is called; it consists on placing him a rope of about eight or ten meters tied to the necklace, let us unite the action of calling it to the one of pulling smoothly, but without concessions, so that it is under obligation to continue until it arrives to where we are seated; let us receive him exaggeratedly affectionate, and automatically, without losing time, we will give him the aforementioned cookie. Repeating the operation three or four serial times and for space of several days, before one week we will observe that the results are good. Naturally, this class of experiments will carry out, in a principle, in a closed place, or, in a garden where it cannot escape. We should keep in mind that, in case we do it in the field it can escape and not return, he could have fatal consequences; we should have full trust when we take him in the field, for it, the best thing will be that for any reason we don't hurry up.
