Also called Teckel or German Basset and popularly known as "sausage dog", was bred in Germany to take the badgers out of their hideouts, after which it was named
Dachs-Hound (dachs means "badger" in German). This breed includes six varieties with standard or miniature size and short, long or hard hair.
GENERAL Dog DESCRIPTION
Vivacious, intelligent and with strong personality, they have a delicate spinal column due to the disproportional length of its coat, so it is not convenient to abuse of certain activities as climbing stairs, for example, because its overweight demands more effort from the spinal column. They are not afraid of anything and they are great company dogs.

PHYSICAL ASPECT
Short hair; dense, soft coat, straight to the touch. Long hair; fine and straight or slightly curly coat. Hard hair; short, stiff and rough hair.
