Bull Terrier (Standard & Miniature Bull Terriers)
Result of a cross between a Bulldog and a Terrier, it was created to fight to the death with bulls when that bloody show was allowed, but it currently is a company dog with great guardian abilities. The miniature variety, which appeared at the same time as the standard, was recognized as an independent breed by the British Kennel Club in 1939.
