During some time it was called "Tenerife Dog" because it was believed that it arrived to the Mediterranean region from the Canary islands in the XIV century, but the origin they attribute this breed nowadays is French. After a lot of controversy, by the beginning of the XX century, it was decided to assign it its current name that simply means "curly dog" in French.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This happy dog faces the world with extreme happiness and the least worry, which makes it easily adapt itself to almost any circumstance. It is playful, affectionate and treats children kindly. This breed is always groomed in the same way, brushing its hair to give a chrysanthemum's shape. It is necessary to brush it a lot and frequently cut its hair to maintain the neat aspect.

PHYSICAL ASPECT
It pompom aspect is obtained by brushing the thick curls that form its exterior hair. As it is white, it takes a lot of work to keep it clean. Dark and rounded eyes with a black border on the eyelids. The ears are covered with inhabitant hair. They hang very close to the face and get straight when the dog is in alert. The tail is curved over the back. Rounded and tight feet with black nails. Squared robust body with a well-developed chest.
