BELGIAN SHEPHERDS
Four Belgian Shepherd dogs are listed under this name (the Groenendael, the Laekenois, the Malines and the Tervueren) that are differentiated only by their color and the type of coat. Their courage and vitality make them the best four versatile working dogs in all Europe.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Belgian Shepherds, are proud and full of life, need to exercise their minds and muscles. They are guardians by instinct and answer greatly to the shepherd training or for agility and obedience tests. They can be noisy and it is mandatory to socialize them as soon as possible to teach them not to be so distrustful with strangers. They are good family pets.
PHYSICAL ASPECT
The Groenendael and the Tervueren have long and straight hair decorated with hair on the chest and fringes on the paws. The Groenendael is black in color and the Tervueren, wolf red with a black mask as the Malines. This last one has short and hard hair. The Laekenois has reddish-fawn hair with wire texture. All of them have dark brown eyes and a lively and penetrating look. Characteristic ears, triangle, stiff, firm to the touch. Medium length tail, raised when they are in motion. Rounded feet with very protuberant fleshy parts. The chest draws a wonderful ascendant curve. Elegant and very muscular body.
