Bath Time Tips

What is usually done:

  • Most of dogs don't take a bath. 
  • When they take a bath they do it with an inadequate frequency (little or too much). 
  • Is used shampoos and soaps formulated for the human and even domestic soaps of several uses (dish soap, detergents, etc.). 
  • Is used the same type of shampoos for all the types of skin and hair. 
  • The use of topical solutions of basic pH facilitates the bacterial growth and these can be irritating. 

Consequence
It loses the physiology of the skin and the hair, with deterioration of the external aspect of the dog and of the normal operation of certain structures causing dermal problems (seborrhea, epidermis, etc.). 

What we should do:

  • The dogs should take a bath with regularly, under normal conditions, it oscillates among monthly and quarterly, according to the race and, in summery periods, it can arrive a maximum of one per week. 
  • Not to use products that can alter the normal physiologic of the skin and the hair of the dogs.  
  • To Use a physiologic shampoo formulated to respect the normal conditions of the different types of hair. 
  • In all those cases in that the climatologically conditions or of dirt they require a more frequent bath, it is recommended to use a soft shampoo formulated for such an end. 

 

Objective:

 

 To respect the physiology of each skin type, avoiding the bias to dermal problems.
