This small German dog breed, which aspect resembles the Brussels Griffon's, already appears on the XIV century painting, so it might be one of the first European Toy varieties. It was previously used by farmers to exterminate rodents.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Lively, sure of itself and messy, it is a funny pet. It doesn't need to exercise too much, but its independent character and its perspicacity can make turn it into a mischievous dog. Despite its height, it doesn't get intimidated by any intruder and it is ready to defend its dear family at any cost. It usually gets along well with the children and other dogs.

PHYSICAL ASPECT

Rough and abundant hair, with lion-like hair that highlights its monkey face. The darkest color is black, but it tends to gray with age. Dark, rounded and sparkling eyes. Ears placed high. When the dog is still, the tail can hang, but it should keep it gracefully over the back when it is in motion, but never forming a curl. Small and compact cat feet.
